Dragon boating is the fastest growing water sport in America. Originating over 2,000 years ago in China, these 40’ long boats require 22 individuals to execute as one. Through technique, trust, and teamwork, paddlers learn how to navigate the challenges of shared space and synchronization to achieve top speed.
Founded with just a handful of paddlers in 2010, Organized Chaos has grown to over 60 active members, 250 supporters, and has become a registered 501(c) (3) non-profit organization.
The team competes nationally in Mixed, Ladies, and Open (Men) categories at dragon boat regattas, festivals, and club crew championships. We’re also pretty enthusiastic about other paddling disciplines, such as stand up paddleboard, outrigger canoe, and kayaking.
Organized Chaos is affiliated with the USA Canoe and Kayak (USACK) and US Dragon Boat Federation (USDBF) governing bodies, with several of our members representing Team USA at the World Championships held in Italy (2012), Poland (2014), and Canada (2015).
When not on the water, in the gym, or eating right, Organized Chaos supports local charities through volunteering and fundraising. We take particular interest in causes that improve personal fitness, health, and protect our local waterways.
